Social Security: There Is No Crisis -

Social Security: There Is No Crisis -

To repeat: There is no Social Security Crisis. That's a fact.

Saying there is a crisis is the equivalent of "Iraq has WMD NOW! NOW! NOW!" Of course, we find out later that Iraq had no WMD and Social Security is not in crisis.

Thanks to Pandagon for the link. Nice job.

Man, you need to slap yourself and wake up.
No problems with SS! Oh, ok, and I guess there's also:
No problems with public schools.
No problem with 87% of black kids being born out of wedlock.
No problem with 40 million abortions.
No problem with throwing away 3 trillion dollars of tax payer money on the war on poverty.

That LibDem Koolaid you're drinking, is it Goofy Grape or Silly strawberry flavor?

No problems with SS!I didn't say there was no problem. I said there was no crisis. Big difference. (As an analogy, if you have a health crisis, you call an ambulance. If you have a health problem, the treatment isn't quite so urgent.) And I stand by that. There are serious US fiscal problems, but Social Security is not one of them.

Sure there are some problems. I don't think "the sky is falling" rhetoric from conservatives paints the picture any more correctly here than "the WMD is falling" rhetoric painted pre-war Iraq correctly.

No problem with 87% of black kids being born out of wedlock.I think single mothers having kids -- white, black, asian, or otherwise -- is, in general, not a great thing. Sex education and readily available contraceptives really do cut the rate of pre-marital pregnancies and I'd urge we do more in that regard.

No problem with 40 million abortions.I don't have much of a problem with abortion. If women need them, they should be legal and available. I don't want you determining who has to carry a child to term.

I'd prefer they not get pregnant in the first place if they don't want a kid. But I bet you're not too keen on sex education and readily available contraception, are you?

No problem with throwing away 3 trillion dollars of tax payer money on the war on poverty.I'm not sure where you got that number, but I think the war on poverty did a lot of good and had some bad consequences, too. Just like any war, it's not an unalloyed positive. Ask the families of dead soldiers in Iraq if it's been a great war for them.

The war on poverty did a hell of a lot more good than the war on drugs or the war in Iraq has done, and we're still pouring money down those sinkholes.

That LibDem Koolaid you're drinking, is it Goofy Grape or Silly strawberry flavor?Neither. Are you taking Vicodin like your hero Rush?

Thanks for establishing your lack of reading comprehension.
